Early Childhood Catechesis
Early Childhood Catechesis seeks to implement the fundamental tasks of Religious Education by helping the child "to know", to celebrate and to contemplate the mystery of Christ." (GDC 85-87; NDC pp.59-64)
The aim of this catechetical approach is to plan and create an environment which nurtures the unique relationship between God and the young child celebrated in the Sacrament of Baptism. Its purpose is to introduce the most essential elements of our faith: to know God's love in the person of Jesus Christ, his Son - the Good Shepherd who died for us and is risen.
